Well, I went back to the show today and bought the nickel I posted about yesterday. Picked it up for $35. Here it is:

Now THAT is awesome, and at a good price too. It's fun to find monster toned coins at regular price. I don't even want to haggle at that point. That 1892 Barber 25c that I took the picture of was bought at a reasonable MS-60 price.

Chances are your coin has already been viewed by many FS collectors over the years of it's life. If there are problems with the coin or steps to prevent a 65, 66 grade and FS designation, you will have another $15-$20 invested. Steps need to be strong with full separation, extend completely to the sides without nicks or bridges.....how do the steps look to you now.

Actually, the grade and steps would need to pass for me as well........(thinking, more shrewed thinking)........but what if?.........oh well, I tried. Be sure to post how it goes.

..........PCGS MS65 PQ for the awesome tone color. that's a coin i don't think any jefferson collector would be ashamed to own. nice pick up Russ. save your grading fees and put it in your raw collection inside a rigid plastic 2x2.

Since I don't know anything about Jeffersons, I had to come back here and seek some guidance first. Besides, it started at $45, was down to $38 yesterday, so I figured if he still had it today I could fenagle a couple more bucks off. What can I say, I'm a cheapass.
