Too funny! An eBay auction.

This is the first thread that I started. I really wanted to wait and make a real post about a real subject, but this auction on ebay is funny. Check it out:

ebay link

He thinks that the large cent is a "liberty bust quarter" from either 1819 or 1849. The funniest thing is that he (or she) fancies himself as a civil war buff and goes on to list his rare civil war dime from 1890.

Comments

  • Yeh, that soldier who dropped the 1890 dime was later arrested for counterfeiting coins with dates in the future on them. This was of course, after he was saved, by shear luck, from the lynching for trying to pass a large cent off as a quarter.

Look at his other auctions (second page). Are those counterfiet ancient coins that he is trying to sell for $1? they look fake to me. Also, why are his auctions private??

    Good find! LOL.

This guy has a very expansive version of the civil war. 1819 to 1890? :-)

His next auction will be a WWII Sacagawea dollar dug in an Alaskan banana field.

    What you smoking there, NumisEd?
I read the ebay ad and it says "large cent", not "quarter". Also he doesn't say the cent and dime are from the civil war. He just says this is an inn where there were soldiers during the civil war.
