Jefferson proofs

Here's an interesting 1939 proof hoard i came across on eBay. Considering the certified pops for PCGS/NGC coins, trying to corner the market to influence the price seems rather unlikely, not to mention comical. So tell me, how do you end up with 40 of the same coin!!!!!?????

Someone's idea of a sales pitch. And there's not a type 2 in the bunch.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!

How one person could come up with 40 1939 Proof Jefferson Nickels is curious.
Some people just have all the luck.
That collector must have bought a whole roll of them at once.
