Yet another Full Step question.

Digging through old threads I've been working on figuring full step nickels. Would this example go FS or will a ding in the step kill it. Please excuse the picture, but the Intel scope will only do them at 60X and I need 2 picks to cut and paste.

  • Marty, That could go either way. Its not the ding that has me its the weakness between 3rd and 4th steps. I think they you have a 50/50 chance. How about an easy one for us? image BTW IMO its a FS coin, especially with so much of the 6th step showing, the fact that you have a good part of the 6th step is why I believe PCGS may give it to you. I have seen worse coins get FS and better coin not get it.
  • I agree to close to call. Could go either way. If that nick in the 5th step under the third pillar goes completely through the step it may not get the FS designation. What year and mint mark?

It's a 59-P, I marked it as iffy and just wanted to make sure, the thing I don't understand is when you talk about bridges? It may take a while for me to respond, I'm out of the country for a week starting tomorrow.
