Says it may be fake.......I don't have enough knowledge to say one way or the other.......date looks kinda funny to me. If its real and the buyer actually gets it, it's a good deal, in my opinion.

I've paid more than that for coins I KNEW were fakes!! LOL

IT"S A FAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was an article in Golbrecht Journal about these fakes (I think it was 1844 and 1846) they can be easily recognized by the deep cut in the shield

wonderful,a dealer who features counterfeits...centerpiece of anyones collection...
some complainers said they paid for but never received their item...he simply calls them liars...
very interesting...

Gerry from LSCC was selling the counterfeits for $18 each so members could look at the counterfeit diagnostics. He wrote that they were fairly good.

Probably counterfiet with a BIN of $13. Seems like he believes it's definitely counterfiet

Definitely fake. He tells you in the listing that it weighs 20.9 grams. Since a genuine weighs 26.7 grams this one can't be real.

I think everyone's missing the point of this thread, the seller has invented/created a new word and we all should rejoice.
