if some 60's pop top lincolns are selling for 40K and are hot are pop top ultra/deep cameo 3cn hot

what do you think?

are three cent nickel proofs in ultra/deep cameo proof
hot? or are they up and coming "hot" coins??

    I don't think they are hot yet. They should be. All nickel coins (except maybe Buffalos) are under appreciated!! The ultra deep cameo ones like yours sure should be hot, that one looks great.

    High quality 3CN pieces as getting attention in the auctions now as you know, Michael! Those items are getting mutliple bids. Wondercoin's told me of new collectors in the market for them.

    As seems to be true in other segments of the market, though, merely good specimens have yet to "catch on," and the "heat" in the market still seems quite selective.

    Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...

    More seriously, I think it's a lot more "difficult" for a new collector to be attracted to collecting a set of 3CNs than a set of Jeffersons. Many (Most? All?) of use started collecting from change. We then progressed to older coins. It's my bet that many collectors of modern coins haven't been collecting long. So, you probably have some people with a lot of money, many of whom are collecting more modern coins. As a result, some modern coin prices skyrocket. With the passing of time, I expect some new collectors will migrate to other series, such as 3CNs.

    Note that I am not knocking collectors of modern coins. I have a MS clad dime collection going as well as a MS 3CN collection going. Both delight me, but in different ways.

    Pretty coin Michael..I think these will go up real big over the next few yrs..especially in Cameo contrasted examples...Mark how are you doing on that MS set of 3cn?? its tough..way tougher then the proofs..

    Michael,

    If classic DCAM rarities start selling for moon money I'll happily sell all mine and take a nice long vacation.
