EBay's Fourth-Quarter Profits Triple
"The San Jose, Calif., online auctioneer posted net income of $87 million, or 28 cents a share, up from $25.9 million, or nine cents a share, a year earlier. The company in October had projected earnings of 22 cents to 23 cents a share.
Revenue soared 89% to $413.9 million from $219.4 million, helped by growth in auction-transaction revenue and $72.6 million in revenue from recently acquired PayPal. Analysts were expecting revenue of $389.3 million."
