Submitting To ANACS

I picked up the elusive 09S-VDB on "approval" yesterday, as in, if it grades out, I own it. If it comes back "improperly cleaned" I don't.

The coin has fabulous VF detail, and z nice scratch on the back image which will knock it down. My local dealer told me he spoke to ANACS at FUN and got the indication they would grade it F12.

I seem to recall reading about slow turnaround times, etc from ANACS and wanted to get an opinion on submitting it. I paid "G" money, and would be willing to put some bucks into expedited service.

Any one have any insight to share on an ANACS submission?

  • Frank...I used the 5 day service on a couple Morgans, and it went as sked. Mailing from/to California and grading time total about 10 days. Was worth the extra money to me to get the ladies home.
  • thanks john.

ps: your package is ready to go.

  • You might give ANACS a call before you send. With that scratch, I'm assuming they'll net grade....but even with ANACS you may want to describe it to them and make sure they're not gonna bag it right out the gate.

    Frank:
They are getting brutally strict., which has its good and bad aspects. My approach
is that the verbal opinions at shows mean "squat". I submitt to them and take my
chances. Usually I have 95% penetration with them on grade and authenticity.

I agree. It takes A LOT for ANACS to bodybag! If this 1909-S VDB made it into their holder, yours definitely will!

yeah ANACS has been pretty strict lately, I cracked out two PCGS MS63 Morgans and they ended up in MS61 & MS62 ANACs holders. Which by the way I just sent to airplanenut for his charity auction. image
