Yes, this is the U.S. forum but two things:
1.the onza design reminds me of the St. Gauden $20-(w/o the clothes and w/wings
2.I just like you folks
Which design do you like better? I'm putting a small collection of 1oz silvers together.

They're the same coin - the one labeled ONZA is an earlier design
I should have known this, I had a set of these not too long ago.
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
I personally like the Chinese pandas best of all...got a full set of the silver 1 oz. to date, and my order is in for the 03.

The romantic story of the two lovers, sort of a Romeo/Juliet tragic myth, is represented by the two volcanic mountains on the obverse.
The princess, Iztaccihuatl (Sleeping Woman) is the volcano on the left, and the warrior, Popocatepetl (Smoking Mountain) is on the right.
The 'New Libertad' series was introduced in 1996, with the winged victory sculpture in semi-profile from the previous face-on orientation.
