if a coin is PF 70

does it have to be DMPL? i would think it would have to be because in order to be perfect it would have to have the thickest frost, best mirrors... am i right or do i have alot more to learn?

  • PR-70 is basically just the grade. You can have a PR-70 without having CAM or DCAM on the coin.

  • Yes, the DCAM comes from the preperation of the dies. Also, the planchlets have to be polished
very nicely to get those nice deep mirrors. What ever is on the dies will be imparted to the finished coin.
No frosted die,no frosting on the coin.
