Airtights. How the heck do you get them open?

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to open these things. I've already shredded four fingernails and I'm about ready to blast them apart. Help! Thanks.

  • A very thin knife blade or a razor blade are usually effective - just be careful because the airtight has a tendency to rotate while you are trying to get it open!

Xacto knife. That was the preferred tool to use according to the Air Tite folks behind their booth at FUN.

I use a small flat screwdriver to pry it open.

Just make sure it's on a pad because it slips easily and could gouge the table

Gee Kyle, I really like your method but I don't think you really need to be so precise and careful. imageimage

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I think I'll start with Kyle's method first and if there is anything left I'll work my way down the list. Now where did I put that power cord?

USE EYE PROTECTION!! If you use an exacto knife, Depending on the type blade you use, the tips can break of and you run the risk of it flying into your eye.
