PSA 10 wave on Ebay

Looks like "Onelotus" has sold out. One has to wonder what this wave of PSA 10 vintage material will realize pricewise; I remember the PSA 10 Reggie Smith sold for something like $745.00 and I know for a fact I sold him the '80 Topps PSA 10 Dave Parker for $320 and change. Anyone know if his stuff is consigned to "prewarcardcollector", or did Onelotus sell directly to him? It's odd that such material is being offered all at once.

If I had to speculate, I might suggest that Onelotus might have simply refined his/her collecting criteria to focus on more specific cards in ongoing collections. For whatever reason it is being offered, I would say that this opportunity to purchase vintage PSA 10's may be fairly singular in nature -- it is very rare to see any number of pre-1973 PSA 10's anymore, whether on Ebay or in any of the major auctions. I believe in previous conversations that may have involved onelotus, the thoughts on the 1970s-era PSA 10s has dramatically changed in the past 18-24 months, largely due to the Registry and the ensuing specials. Two to three years ago, there were very few PSA 10's in total for most years of the 1970s Topps sets (and other related sets). However, the PSA 10 populations have increased many times over what they were before. I remember vividly when there was only one PSA 10 from 1977 Topps, less than five or ten from 1980 Topps, etc. At that point in time, perhaps the thoughts on the sustainability of the value of such cards might be preserved for awhile. In today's environment, with case crackers working overtime, and so many thousands of cards being submitted -- the populations have increased tenfold or more, with prices dropping to more reasonable levels. Though this helps someone like me who perhaps might want to collect a PSA 10 team set of the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies -- it does not necessarily indicate a good investment for some aficianados if thousands of these cards continue to get sent in for the $5 grading specials
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

MS- Looks like you are right on the money....hes probably selling out now while he can still get a decent % of his original investment. Heck...he probably has a decent chance down the road of picking them back up at a lesser price anyways.

    Caramels-

Why don't you write me an e-mail? I don't know why you think I hate you -- I have few enemies in this hobby, and hope to keep it that way. We may have butted horns a few years ago, but I don't hold grudges if you let issues drop. I'm not 100% sure who you are -- but for some reason I think that the phrase "bcd" might be associated with you. Honestly -- shoot me an e-mail. Or, to quote you (assuming I am correct with my assumption...) "I stand alone.....vain and confident".
