What is the best book that details the grading of Morgan Dollars?

    The best source I have seen is the PCGS Official Guide to Coin Grading and Counterfeit Detection. It has pretty decent illustrations of grading Morgan dollars, especially in mint state.

    This link I asked about Peace Dollars but, it`s about Morgans as well. I haven`t had a chance yet to order these books but, I will when I get a chance.

    The PCGS book is excellent! The VAM book will provide additional info on die varieties, etc... both would be ideal if you are serious about Morgans.
