How can you get a coin to go from RB..

To BN. As in Lincolns for instance. What if you wanted to take some `pinkish`or off colored ones and get them to a nice natural brown color. In other words. How do you doctor them down.Does this make since?
Do you just leave them out in the air or stick it in a potted plant in the house? What.

I,ve heard of recoloring of copper to get it to a more eye-appealing state And its just more
coin doctoring stuff which is just terrible for the hobby on the whole. But ,What a collector does with his
or hers coins is they,re business.Thats why they make eZest and MS70 Industrial Strength Coin Brightener.
Its the wire brush of the modern collector. Its not all bad though.Knowing what `doctored` coins look like will
help you in determining what you want to purchase or is valuable to you.

Whats Liver of Sulphur? Ive heard of it.Is that the recolor solution?

  • Place the copper coin in a ball of silty-clay (the soil in your yard will work if you don't live on the east or west coast). Let it set in your closet for 30 days, rinse it off and see if you have made it ugly enough for you.
This will make the coin brown.

Could you use clay from a craft shop?
  • I don't believe that craft shop clay will work. You need some organic matter
