When I went to sign up it says that I was already registered as a power seller and didn't need to do anything unless I did not want to be in the program.
When I go to check my feedback screen the Power Seller Icon is there.
Nah, I'll be declining the "honor". The only reason they sent me the invitation is because I had one big month when I sold off one of my proof Kennedy sets. I don't normally sell enough to qualify.
I had the same thing happen two years ago when I liquidated my MS Modern Commem set. I broke their monthly sales barrier for that one month and got the invite, but don't do enough to be allowed to stick around.
My sister recently became a power seller. I now feel like all the power seller status does is make her feel like she has to keep selling more so she can keep it. Of course this brings in more money for ebay, and also makes them have good feedback, therefore making ebay look better. Seems like ebay has created a nice little tool for themselves.
The one main reason you might want to consider it is the slightly less personal service you receive as a Power Seller through their Power Seller support agents when you have an issue of some type. Otherwise, there's not much of an advantage.

The only time I tried to use the advantages was once when they were having problems with TurboLister not working once and I tried to get help and being a power seller didn't get it resolved any faster. They ignored me just the same as everybody else and fixed it on their own schedule.

LESS personal service?
It's never done me any good.
