    Twice.

First was a raw 20th century type set. Only $40, nice deal for what was in it.

Second was a raw SLQ... they claimed just dirty... chance of dip and making MS64. I paid $110. Should have returned it. Dirty AU not dirty MS. Dealers were only offering about $40.... until one met my $90 ask. I sold and keep my $20 lesson close at hand. I was a novice then.

His "Feedback" on the boards here has been less than stellar. The only good thing I heard someone say he updated the picture of himself on the auctions. I looked and it is in fact better!!!!

I know there have been more recent threads on bluemoon, but here's the only one a search produced: LINK

...and with every purchase you get a framed 8x10.

I bought from him in the past and never had a problem.
He has nice coins sometimes, despite the NTC garbage.

NTC garbage? What are you referring to Brian. I was just told by a reputable dealer that NTC is actually more conservative in grading than PCGS and NGC.

    Hey Russ,

I've bought some proof sets from him. They were OK and the service was average.

Sometimes it seems like he's too busy reading his book then grading his own coins.

Here's an example of NTC's "conservative" grading:

This one is holdered as a PR69CAM. There are plenty more just as bad out there.

I bought a buffalo set from him, kids loved the nickles, just a cheap set, but for the $$$ it was a great deal. I also got an MS bust half in NGC 62, very happy with it.......got a coin on approval, and sent it back as it was no where near a DMPL as they had said....it later turned up on their auction as returned from graders as body bagged. Be careful and you may get deals.
