Checklist sites?

I'm working on an inventory program that is database driven and I'm trying to include as many sets as possible. I have all the standard sets 1948-2001. Are there any sites that offer checklists of some of the "rarer" or "oddball" sets? I looked at oldbaseball.com and emailed the author. Thanks.

Are you looking for downloadable info or just info you can copy and input into your program?
I have a checklist of many Topps inserts and test issues from 1961-1969, in spreadsheet format. I am looking for similar information for Topps/Bowman 1951-1980-- my only requirement is that the players be listed last name first, as that makes it easier for me to sort them alphabetically.
Let me know if I can be of any help. Todd

P.S. I will start working on the more oddball sets once I get all the basic sets out of the way.... any help on the oddball sets is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to cater to vintage and modern collectors alike.

Beckett's annual Baseball Card Price Guide lists every card with every player's full name - for instance, 1970 #66 is listed like this:
66 AL Home Run Leaders
Harmon Killebrew
Frank Howard
Reggie Jackson
I don't know if this info is available online anywhere, but the hardcopy is a great resource (if you don't look at the prices too much ). Are you looking for some type of database file to download? Maybe someone else here has that info. I know it would be time consuming to enter all of this data manually.
I know you're good with database programming (I still use your cert. verification tool - it's great, thanks). Are you planning on making this program an interactive online inventory? I'd be willing to help by entering a set or two manually if you'd like (it would only take updating the LL cards and rookie cards for the '70 set for example). I'm sure others here would be willing to help. Let us know.
I've already got formatted .txt files and excel files of every baseball set from around 1957 to present. What type of format are you looking for?

I guess you've put me in a situation where I need to spill the beans My plan is to develop a database-driven software inventory program (with the help of another programmer). The user will be able to upload their collection to my website for everyone to browse (an address http://www.cardbuzz.net/users/username/). People will be able to request trades and such by searching our online database with everyone's collection uploaded (which would lead to user ratings). The program will be updated via the internet through a subscription, and the user will have the option of choosing whatever sets they want to download. If they only were collecting 1970 Topps, they wouldn't have to download the rest of the sets in the database for that one set. No pricing information is available yet, though (which I don't think is really that important, but people have expressed interest in it). Hopefully, once we get this off the ground and running, we'll offer an auction service where people can throw up singles or lots (where they pay a commission only if it sells). What will be different about our auction is that all card information will be uniform and out of the database. So if you search for "Topps", you won't have to worry about typos like "Tops" or "Toppss". Another feature will be that the checklists will be available on the site for everyone to browse free of charge (which is difficult to find).
I have most of the card information already, but it hasn't been combed through to find errors and add all the player names (which I'm in the process of). I have about 400,000 cards to sort through, and I'm at about 10,000. I'll probably just make sure the basic sets are in there for the launch then keep adding sets as they're requested. All I'm doing right now is baseball, but if this thing takes off, I'll do all the major sports.
I'm trying to make this usable for everyone -- modern collectors, vintage, and player collectors. I'd eventually like to add Team information, but its not in the cards as of now. The software is going to be able to store information such as where you got the card, how much you paid, etc... I'm working on a feature that allows you to download your recent eBay auction wins and then add them to your inventory with a few mouse clicks. As you can tell I have some really big ideas for this, but right now I don't have that many resources.
Right now all my information is in "Year / Set Name / Insert Name (if any) / Card Number / Player(s)". If your excel files have that info (not necessarily in that order), I can use it and manipulate it.
If yall have any ideas on any features you would like to see, marketing ideas, or want to help in anyway, I would really appreciate it. I want this thing to be for the collector, not necessarily just to make a few bucks (but covering the hosting costs would be good ).

That's about what I figured you had in mind. I would suggest you don't include pricing info (you see how everyone here slams the SMR just about daily). Let me know if I can help in any way. You can PM me or email me at Virtualizard.

Yeah, I'd eventually like to get team names, but I will need A LOT of help doing that. I'll probably end up figuring out a program to delegate the work and compensate the people with free subscriptions or something.
I'll let everyone know when the first version is available.
