I can't post pic's here, but if anyone is interested in posting them, I can email the scans. A friend that works at a bank picked this one up the other day. It appears to be made of lead and to have been plated. Strangest thing I've seen. Until the pics are available, it's a 1967 Washington Quarter. Neat, if nothing else. Looks to have had the obverse and reverse put together. You can usually find two headed examples like this one, but why they have the obv. and rev........who knows?

I'm with the thinking of "why?" It really doesn't make too much sense, but it's here. I wish I could get a pic. of the rims, so everyone could see where the coin looks to have been put back together, or the remnants from the cast mold.
Anyone know what these things might be worth? Again, it's not my coin, but the owner will probably want to sell it.

way unless a fake is being sold to defraud. Counterfeits often sell for a dollar or two
but specialists may sometimes pay more for ones which are scarce, famous, or contem-
porary. There are still some fake quarters being made. The secret service busted up
a large east coast ring a couple years ago. They had passed many thousands of good
quality fakes. A South American ring was recently arrested for counterfeiting Sac dollars
for use in the Dominican Republic.
