All in all not bad, I worry about the 2 PCGS rejected, they were right out of ANACS slabs (and they are usually rel good about catching problem coins.

It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • Nice find on the 1934 light motto quarter.
Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.

  • Looks like PCGS agreed with ANACS almost across the board. Interesting.
  • You might think twice about reviewing those ANACS coins bagged for cleaning...I had 2 circ Morgans bagged by NGC...sent them to ANACS figuring on a net grade, got straight up VF-20 and EF-40. To be fair, I didn't think the VF would've gotten hit for cleaning...the EF was a crap shoot.

Only 29 business days. Looks like they beat the guarantee by one day. Sucks waiting 42 days on an invoice though. Mine arrived on 12/3 and hasn't posted yet. This is not a hobby for the impatient. I'm waiting for a check from Teletrade for an auction that closed 12/6, and waiting on my bodybags since 12/3. Maybe I'll bid on somebody's 10 day auction. That'll seem to fly by comparatively.

  • Awfully hard to understand why the collecting "public" places a discount on the value of the ANACS holder relative to the PCGS holder, isn't it?

Wow! You really scored on that 34 Light Motto. Did you buy it as a Light Motto?
    US Navy CWO3 retired. 12/81-09/04

    Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.
  • You said that you were going to have to have PCGS look at two coins again. ... How does that work, do you simply send them back and say 'try again', or do you have to pay a second time for a Regrade??

Got 2 back in one day. I was hoping to score a PR70DCAM, but no such luck.

No, I paid a buck for it at a local coin show as an BU Washington.

I'll take a close look at them first, I didn't catch them at PCGS before they shipped out. Usually PCGS is really good at catching problem coins and giving them a NET grade. Both of these were nothing fancy, but if I feel that PCGS graded them incorrectly, I'll give Charlie a call and see if they want me to send them back in.
