Coin World Trends now lists high grade moderns

Noticed the Jan. 20th issue of Coin World lists modern coins from 1934 to date in grades up to MS-67 and Proof-69. Looks like good info. Haven't studied the prices yet but on a quick look seems like they are on the high end of the retail price spectrum. I guess that's what they are supposed to be. I'm really happy Coin World has done this and it looks like it's going to be usefull.

How does it compare with the PCGS online guide?

It seems, from what I have seen of it, that CWT is actually pretty accurate... PCGS, well, isn't.

This should prove to be a tremendous boost to the market. Many sales which otherwise
would have occured, didn't, because there was no guide to determine a price. For the
first time there will be a guide available to give buyers and sellers a reference point for
making a deal. This will allow a lot of pent-up demand to actually become satisfied. It is
likely that this demand is much deeper and broader than most realize. This should show
itself pretty quickly in the prices for the just missed coins and mint and proof sets.

There is still a missing factor, eye appeal. Darkly toned coins never sell for the same money as white coins.

This is very good: it legitimizes these kinds of coins. Before, people would just point to the Trends price of a PR65 to illustrate how crazy a price for a PR69DCAM was.

This is good news, something more accurate than what has been used in the past is definitely needed.
