Coin collecting interests headed in new direction.

I am giving up my 20th Century Type set of Circulation strike coinage. The prices realized at the FUN auction for certain coins that I thought about looking for, gave me a reality shock. Instead, I am going to concentrate more on my Modern Type set and Ike and Kennedy sets of Circ strikes. I am also going to try and assemble complete type sets for Cents and 5 cent Nickel coins. Instead of looking for super high grades, I am going to look for coins I find attractive. Some of the cents will be brown or RB. Especially the older large cents. And many will be circulated. Unless someone wants to sell me a UNC 1793 Liberty cap cent for 500. It doesn't have to be full red.
I am going to put up the following coins in the next big Heritage auction. All the coins are PQ in my opinion. The Merc has one little toning spot on the obverse, but the luster is incredible. Hopefully with coins prices going up, I will not lose money, FOR ONCE. mdwoods

Interesting change of collecting goals. I would think, in light of the Heritage results it would have been the other way around, but you seem focused on what you want!

I had just consigned some MS66s so that I could buy some MS67s. No way can I afford a PCGS MS67 Liberty Nickel or IHC now. I suspect the other coins I wanted to upgrade to MS67 are similarly out of reach now as well. No biggie, I have found that there are many different coins I want to collect. I can't afford them all at once, but maybe one or two at a time. mdwoods

P.S. I'm gonna start carrying a Sac dollar around all the time. In a few years we will see how it wears down. Hopefully I can get you a P01 Sac before I go.
