Has this ever happened to anyone in a Heritage Auction?

My max bid on a FUN Show lot was $510.00 with the juice. Got up this morning and found I won the lot for over $700.00! How the hell is this possible? Refusing to pay for the lot is a foregone conclusion, but what I'd like to know is how it happened in the first place?

    As far as I know - you have to add the juice on top of your bid - this is normally 20% in these auctions so you got me! - the math isn't working out!

    My bid was under $500.00, but for awhile I was high bid at $510.00 with the juice. Then I received an "outbid" notice from heritage and I never went back to the auction. My max was my max, period!

    PLACID: It was lot #9613 at the FUN Signature Sale and my bid was placed on line.

    PLACID: It shows my max bid was $800.00, what I feel is a ridiculous amount for this lot.

    hmmm - the 8 is just above the 5 in the number pad - could you have "fatfingered" an 8 instead of a 5 by mistake?

    If you followed a link from a web site to the Heritage site it's possible someone else placed the bid.
    It has happened to me before. I noticed it before the auction ended though and was able to call and get it removed. If you know you didn't no idea here.

    FC: I use a laptop, no number pad.

    PLACID: I did post a heritage link and was logged in at the time. It was brought to my attention by a forum member and I quickly went back to the Heritage site and logged off and changed the link.

    you only won the online part, it sold on the floor ,as soon as they update there web site it will change, they did that to me on three auctions, once they updated i only won one auction

    opps unless you hit the wrong key. ouch!!

    My max bid was lower than the high bid but it stayed green for 2 days

    FYI, if you place the bid on Heritage's site it's 15%. If you place it on Ebay, it's 20%.
    Superior's auction was 15% on Ebay. It was 20% in the past.

    I had a similar experience with an online bid in the Heritage FUN auction. It involves lot 8508. In the 'My Bids' at Heritage it shows my max bid @ $471.50 and the winning bid @ $488.75. First, I only bid $140.00 and second, no moron would bid to the winning amount shown for a common AU $2½ Indian. It will probably take a few days for them to sort out these problems. It's probably a case of their fat fingers on the keyboard and not yours.

    MOMMAM17: That's great, problem is, my max bid came to $510.00 with the juice! I never upped my bid on this lot. And I certainly don't want it for almost $800.00.

    Off topic ...Mommam 17......nice looking icon you have LOL ...I'm happy to see someone else using it. It's a pup from one of my litters. She's a beauty! I have a litter due in 6 weeks, if anyone is interested.

    I was hoping you didn`t mind. She looks exactly like mine when he was a pup about 15 months ago. How much for the pups? Hope to get another black one someday!image

    I think they'll sell around $500. - $600. depending on male/female and if you want an unlimited registration.
