SMR Values for 72 Topps Baseball

I just checked the SMR and see that alot of the cards have gone up in value, but my question is as follows:

They don't list any price amounts in the 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 category for common cards. What would you value them at for insurance purposes - $10.00 a card?

They also don't tell you the value of hard to find cards such as:

The First Series Checklist
Tom Haller
Others that are hard to find.

Should the SMR reflect POP numbers or even what is being paid for cards on ebay?

I'm only asking this for insurance purposes.

  • The Feb. SMR now lists prices for the lower grade commons. The SMR price across the board will be a good average if you've sent a lot of stuff in for grading yourself. Keep your receipts on everything else that you've purchased. There are tougher cards that are worth more than SMR, but they will offset the value of cards that aren't worth SMR.
