Toned Morgan - AT or Not, your opinion wanted

Below is a image of a 1890 Toned Morgan, and below that is a link to a bigger picture. This was done on my scanner which isn't the best for capturing toning, but it does a decent job. I would appreciate your thoughts and WHY you think it is AT or not.

Thanks,

Greg

That coin is definitely AT'ed. The major clue to me is the abrupt change in color over the ear. The colors do not look natural. There are a few other points to this coin, but I wouldn't be able to tell for sure without seeing it or having a very large actual photo of it.

Yep, AT. The abrupt color changes that are not smooth. How the color lies inside the LIBERTY and over the hair around it. The rim also has some of the color of the fields which is suspicious. How the color on the numbers 1890 is the same as the color of the field around it.

Here is a naturally toned dollar with the type of toning the coin doctor on your coin tried to imitate. Note the differences, especially how the colors flow around the date, stars, and devices.

The rev looks like bad album or envelope tone. On the obv the purple around the ear & hair is not natural and the blue is too bright & vivid otherwise it looks a lot like this album toned Morgan that is 'natural.' The differences are subtle.

Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
