He bought it uncirculated, then he circulated it for awhile and it came back to him almost uncirculated, but it now looks uncirculated.

It may have only circulated amongst people wearing gloves.

  • Hmmmmm..... Does he know what he is talking about. Doesn't appear so! Hell you might get back a wonderful uncirculated one, but then again you might get nothing. image

No picture, no bid...no matter how nice the words, I have to see a coin before I buy it. Doesn't matter that it's not for much money, I hate waste.

  • Hey I know it sounds crazy but some of these whacko's are actually legit. The user ID has been member since 1999. Older folks have no idea how to upload pictures even if they could get them in a digital format. The thing to do with this person is to ask them a question and get a feel for how they respond. It is risky, and it depends on what the final bid is but don't knock all of these. I got a BU 1854 $10 liberty for melt price from a similar auction.

clackamas,i agree in part with what you're saying...

ask the seller a question or two...if you get no response, ask again...if you get no response after the second request to answer question(s),forget the auction...no desire to communicate is a red flag in my book...

it's true you might,on occasion, actually get a good, even outstanding, deal from a seller who really is being as straight up as possible for him but "doesn't seem to know that he's got something good" but i think "feigned ignorance" of ebay sellers is more common than people care to think about...btw,i don't think it's up to me to tell a seller that they've got something good either...
the competition i get from astute buyers usually takes care of any advantage i think i have from knowing what i'm looking at...and no picture?...usually,no bid from me...

i assume there is more "actual ignorance" among buyers...by no means is that to say that all buyers are ignorant...some are very savvy and are participants on this board...

so start getting more ignorant,buyers...just don't fake it...you've got to get up pretty early in the morning to feign ignorance on mr1874...
