Spent TOO much money . . . COINS GRADED AT FUN

OK, I've only picked up ONE coin, thus far. 1967 SMS67DC, for 1,100 off the floor. I did it right after the 68DC went for $5,900 (w/fee), and I knew I would never pay that much . . . (I think) . . .

I did bring a few little treats for the graders. I'm going to try to step on some of you Merkheads and Buffheads. I'll post results of the submissions Saturday night. We red headed Linco-masters can do your dance too.

Hey, I spent all my coin money in November and December and I KNEW for a fact I wasn't going to upgrade any Proof Lincolns on this trip!

So I decided to take a swat at couple of other groups on the boards and see what I can stir up. Although Mercs and Buffs are not my thing, I had about 15 of them that were jumping to get inside plastic (yes they are raw, and key too!)

And just for good measure, I tossed in four of my PQ 1878 Morgans, which have never seen the light of day before. PQ as in plucked from my set of 200 1878 Morgans, none of which have seen the light of day. Creamy, puffy cheeks slipping around on liquid mirrors . . . a sight to behold. I think one is going 66DM, while the others will be 4-5 in DM.

I hope I have built this up enough so the let down feels like the Tower of Terror at Disney.

Better strap your helmet on fellas !!!!!!! (Sorry, no Frankenstiens for the ladies)

Knowing how you like CAM's and DCAM's I can't wait to hear the results.

When you get them back, let me know what you have...I may be interested in buying some of them (if you're interested in selling them).

    Well, I guess I don't know coins in the PCGS world . . .

    1920s MS63 came back AU58
    1923s MS63 came back MS63
    1924d MS63 came back MS62
    1925d MS64 came back MS63
    1925s MS64 came back PVC

    MERC DIMES:

    1923s MS63FB came back cleaned
    1925d MS64FB came back MS64FB
    1925s MS64FB came back cleaned
    1926s MS64FB came back MS64
    1927s MS64FB came back MS64
    1928s MS65FB came back MS65

    LINCOLN PROOFS:

  • Better luck on the Lincolns, Doug. They certainly were pumping out the coins on Thursday. I didn't hear a lot of comments about grades.

I decided to try my luck with some 1971 Lincoln proofs, but not at show prices! I should have my own 1971 RD/CAM/DCAM grading set after this submission, hehehe. I'll own almost 10% of the ones that are PCGS graded.
