rod sterling..the fun auction..and the twilight zone

rod sterling says.....sumitted for your approval, a city where the sun always shines, and the crowds line the roads....mr. gem is about to inbark on a journey where more than silver will be the twinkle in his eye. it could be another time, another place, a place where some will find happiness, a place where some cross over into a unknown world of shadows, a place where on this day mr. gem will find more than the glitter, plastic incased silver and gold....no mr. gem will escape into the realm of the auction, like a record that has a scratch and keeps a steady skip, round and round it goes, only to find out when the music stops will mr. gem realize, the place that some have come to know is beyond the world of reality, its a place where light and shadows sometimes meet ...a place where mr. gem has just entered, a place few will find a way to escape, a place only those who have been there call.... the twilight zone .............image

T-Zone, my favorite all time TV show. What a mind Serling had. Yeah, I know he didn't write them all, only about 70% of them, but he conceived of the idea and made it happen. Back in the 50s he did alot of anthology work for the desli-lu playhouse and one or two other weekly shows that show a progression toward what was eventually the Twilight Zone.

    Great post, oh the memories.
