You're scaring me Lucy. Now put that right back where you got it and go wash your hands
  • Cool! Another numismatically oriented herper!

So, a ball python......a very neat animal. If you need any help with it, let me know. They can be finicky eaters. Looks like a beautiful specimen.

Here's me (in the middle) holding one of my old pets.....

    image

I'll try to post a picture of me holding my 17 foot albino python, if I can find it.

Hey, we're soon gonna get in trouble if we don't talk about coins, so let me tell you what happened to me today......

Monday, I won lot 12 of the Bowers and Merena sale, the MS65 Specimen of the Wreath Cent. Provenance back to 1872, a coin that appeared
in the first photograph of coins ever published....ya know a really cool coin. Well, today my buddy who was at the sale acting as my agent, called
me up and said that he had a buyer for the coin at what I would call substantially more than what I paid for it. So, I sold it. BUT.....I will still get to see it! Whew! And hopefully, get some cool REAL photos of it for my collection.....and who knows.....maybe I can share them here with my friends......!!!!!!

(Am expressing too much happiness? If so, please forgive me. There actually is a sad side to this.....I forgot to tell my wife that i bought the coin, and as you may know, I've agreed to ask her permission for any coin over 50K...so tonight I had to fess up and as you may suspect, my wife wasn't too happy with me, although she was softened somewhat by the extra money.)

oh, and my hair.....not as blond and not as long but still usually parted right down the middle
  • you ever see the movie Joe Dirt and remember his haircut? well mine is almost as long and looks pretty similar. BTW, my nickname with my motorcycle riding buddies is Joe Dirt as is the license plate on my convertible Mercedes.

    image
  • Yeah, I have the movie Joe Dirt - it's on my TV stand about three feet from my computer. I've seen it. Several times. Pretty funny, at least what I've seen of it. I keep falling asleep before it ends, not the movies fault, just me.

So, motorcycles and a Mercedes. Cool.

What kind of bike do you have? I drove my KZ900 around the US a few years ago.....well, actually, shortly after the snake photo was taken.

What kind of convertible do you have? I've never had a mercedes or a convertible. I opted for an 1806 quarter over the mercedes.

  • I have a highly moddified 2001 Yamaha R1. It has $13,000 in engine modifications alone. The stock horsepower is 128 and I have it at 165 now with another 10 hp coming in about a month. It will pull a wheelie at 120 mph, very fun stuff. Electric shifter, k40 radar detectors installed front and rear and all sorts of other goodies.

the mercedes is a 2001 clk 320, silver of course.

send me your prices on those proofs.

  • 165 Horsepower. Wow. I had a GPz1100 (actually two of them in succession) that had 95 or so horses. That was enough for me. I gave
up motorcycling because i eventually had too much to live for.

Good one airplainnut. I'll have to sleep on your offer on the Morgans.

Adrian, I think Airplanenut plans on paying the $30.00 with a St Gaudens and a Ten dollar Indian. Dates and mint of his choice, of course.

  • Well, in that case, I will wait for the particulars....i was hoping for that rolled edge ten

    The picture or the snake?image
I was at a friend's house several years ago and they had some kind of huge snake that had gotten out of his cage. In the meantime they had their little dog in the snake's cage for his own protection until the snake was located.

  • A friend, who breeds snakes and who hatched that snake out, gave it to me for doing him a favor (cashing a moderately sized check).

It isn't in my possession any more; a friend takes care of it, and he mentioned a while back that he wanted to find a home for it.

  • How much does that bad boy weigh?
  • Probably around 90 lbs. My best guess.
