1955 Franklin Help Please

I am thinking of buying a proof set with this franklin in it. The seller states this: The Franklin half dollar is nicely frosted on both sides with tarnish starting to develop in the field (more obverse than reverse side).

Do you think this will hurt the coins chance at getting graded a cam or dcam? Any ideas on a possible grade from the scan? Any help ASAP would be appreciated.

I think the rev. fields have too much frost and devices too little to be considered CAM. Still, though, I think this is a nice coin that would sell for more than a regular no-frost frankling but much less than a CAM franklin. A very quick dip might take care of the tarnish and up the grade a little. If you bought it, I would send it to NCS for conservation.

I agree. The reverse will likely kill the cam designation. But, WOW! Look at that obverse!

The obverse on that coin looks like a killer - the reverse however, looks typical, therefore I don't think you'll get the cam on this one. It would be a good buy at normal prices - IE - do not pay a premium for this coin.
