"Said Don Stott, a precious metals broker and chief executive of Colorado Gold: "It boggles the mind that they would make a dollar coin the same size as a quarter with a fake gold color on it that tarnishes instantly.""
The cafeteria at work usually has a couple visible in the change drawer, having made the clerks move the rolls to an unused bill slot.
Today they had three, and when I asked for a particular nickel in change (it looked like a war nickel but wasn't) the clerk jumped in to ask if I wanted the Sac's as I pointed.
They weren't able to keep them last year, someone would ask for them as soon as they appeared in the change drawer.
Still have to ask for them in change at the convenience store, and I have yet to find a vending machine or car wash around that takes them.
I still distribute about two rolls a month around town, but am accumulating a small collection of circulated SBAs from the rolls. I usually find one to three per rool now.
The used SAC's appearance are souring my outlook on toning as being a wrongful thing...
