Coin world delivery

I just received TWO issues of Coin world (actually I got them a couple days ago, but on the same day). According to the statement on the mailing label they were mailed on December 24 and 31; yet they got to me on the same day (January 6). Do others have these same delays? Is the problem with the post office here in malibu, the post office where the magazines are mailed? Or does Coin world not really mail on the day they say they do?

Pete, to my mind there is an easy answer to your question. The year end holidays! No excuse for USPS service, but let's face it, delivery of hobby newspapers is NOT their #1 priority at any time of the year, let alone this period. If you've been a subscriber to Coin World for awhile, you probably know how much time it usually takes. If you are like me, it is probably spuratic. Solution may eventually be their online edition once they get it up and running AND get it so the readout or printout becomes comfortable for the customer. JMHO. Steve

Coin World has a history of coming late no matter what time of year. I can think of only a few times that Coin World arrived when it was suppose to. Like Steve said, weekly magazines/newspapers is not high in the post office list of things to deliver.

I get mine on Thursday like clockwork. Maybe once or twice during a year, it comes on Friday. But it's a short trip from Ohio to PA.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Coin World does mail on time. The problem is the post office. As was said before periodicals are never high on the post office list. Every time they are handled by a different center they are put on the bottom of the sort pile. I have at times received three in one week. Coin World started putting the mail date on the front of the paper because of complaints of slow delivery.
I have the same problem with the grey sheet.
  • I can confirm that Coin World mails all issues on the same day each week (every Tuesday). On very rare occasion, an equipment mechanical failure after an issue has come off the press might result in some issues being mailed a day after the normal shipping date. However, that almost never happens. Once, about 25 years ago, a blizzard in Ohio shut us down for about a half week (roof-high drifts will do that), resulting in missed deadlines and a delay of several days in shipping that particular issue.
If you're having particular difficulties, contact our circulation department. They can request a postal watch on delivery of your issues. That sometimes helps with chronic late deliveries.

Thnaks for your responses. Mine used to come pretty regularly on Saturday; then a couple months ago (probably as the holiday mail started to ramp up), it was more often Monday; and then this last one where I got the two issues together. Hopefully, it will be back to normal now. If not, I will contact your circulation department as you suggest and see if thye can help find out anything from the post office.

    Thanks again,

    Pete

Mine comes on Thursday 90% of the time. Otherwise, Fri or Sat. Never missed a week or got two together. I'm in PA.
