Storing PCGS Lincolns

After liquifying my collection of raw Lincoln's on e-bay (I did very well!), I have now started to rebuild in PCGS coins. This is after researching results on various places on the net and deciding that PCGS sells better than the others. I'm not looking for a short term return but actually am a collector that enjoys collecting and have since a kid.

I will build the collection in the coming years and am wondering the best way of storage. Do I put some kind of dessicant in the PCGS box? A gun safe with dehumidifier is in the game plan but not right now as I rebuild. I live in an area where humidity can approach 100% so I am worried. I had problems with the later Lincoln's in my collection as they really went to hell and were ruined.

I would remove the slabs from the PCGS box(es) and place them in an airtight container like a piece of Tupperware along with the dessicant.

Did you puree them or just melt them? Liquifying...sounds a bit dangerous. image

  • Yeh, but how good is this product. My later Lincoln's went to heck after being sealed in "airtight" coin holders. The only one that lost on them was me!

Steve27 has a good idea for long term storage.I like to look at mine to much for that though.
