The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.

many non numismatic collectors that have lots of $$$$ to spend and are hot to buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    and know nothing about coins

but again if more get on this bandwagon and believe me there is a huge amount of cash out there

and many start spending on so called hot items well the sky is the limit

and then who am i to say what something is worth or the value thereof???

but believe me i have seen this before and what goes up must come down

if they deside to sell who will buy from them at these prices they paid???? not me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but again only time will tell and maybe i am an old outdated dinosaur whose time has come and gone!!!!!!!!!!

There are a lot of buyers in one place, so anything can happen. The coin market is seeing it's post holiday rush!!
HAVE A GREAT DAY! THE CHOICE IS YOURS!!!!
  • The auction company, who owns most of the items outright, hires two shills to run up the bids, then stop and hope a sucker jumps in for his "big" opportunity. They don't care if only a few coins sell, as long as they get the kind of prices we're hearing about. Then they just shovel the balance out the back door. If you're the consignor, they don't bid, making the room full of bidders afraid of the item, and then step in and get it cheap just when the hammer falls. Four months later, that coin is another one of their items that's getting the bid up treatment!!

  • redhott,

Attend a few auctions and you will see many of the same people over and over. They are all watching who is doing what, buying what, etc. It really is a smallish yet competitive community. Nice theory though. LOL
  • Ignoring reality can get expensive. In many states this is legal. Enron was too difficult to believe until it was too late. Many wish they would have known about that.
