43 steel cent new scans grade??

Does this look like true doubling and if so can anyone put a value on it? Sorry the scan is huge and it is the best I can do. I need a camera.Text43rev.big The new scans are just under the the other just scroll down. I don't think it is uncirculated, not sure of the grade.

Yes, that is definately class 6 hub doubling....and pretty strong to boot. I do not know the die number on that particular die, I would have to take a look at the coin to tell for sure. If the coin is uncirculated it should bring $15-$20. If it's EF or AU, probably $5. As for a slabbed grade, not enough history on those to tell for sure, but if it's one of those lofty grades (MS66 or higher) it's likely that it would be difficult to sell with a premium for the doubled die.

  • The PLUR looks like DDR#1 in the Lincoln Cent Doubled Die book, but the UNUM doesn't. Nice find whichever one it is!

You're very welcome Rikker. I have a couple of coins that are similar to that one, at least, but I do not know if I own a coin of that particular die. Just wondering, is this one a permanent addition to your collection, or is there a chance it's up for sale?

Hard to tell the grade on that to be precise, Looks MS to me, but it's really hard to tell the difference between softness and wear in a scan of steel. I would have to say MS63 or AU55 depending on whether there are surface breaks which aren't evident in the scan. I would buy the coin either way.

In my book it is the Class II & VI Hub Doubling.CONECA # 7-R-II+VI.There should be a diagonal die scratch below the O of one.Hope this helps.
