1899 IHC at FUN goes for $67,850.

Watching eBay live, a common date 1899 IHC from the Gorrell Collection [ex Epstein] went for $67,850 including the juice. This coin is graded MS68 by PCGS, one of the only two IHCs given a grade that high. A 1877 PCGS MS66 went slightly higher.

Yep, $67,500 plus the juice. What's that figure out to?

I guess it's just a pop-top world. I'm guessing that's about 10-15 times the price of one grade down?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • Russ, I calculate that 1877 to have realized $77, 625. That is about 10K more than Stewart Blay paid for his MS66 1877 [aka the golden princess] in September of 97. Blay's coin is considered to be the nicest 1877 in existence.

Right now, they're going through a bunch of weird coins. I wish they'd speed this up and get to the Two Centers!

Does anyone else see this weid spelling of 'floor' on their screen?

Auction House Flo US $ 1200 -- Auction House Floororororororororororororororororororor
  • I had that spelling in the Superior auction, so it's an E-Bay glitch.
