Treasure Hunter's Medical Trauma?

Okay, not to sound like a hypochondriac but what price will the hard core treasure hunters pay down the road for many many, many hours staring at coins looking for high grade , varieties or errors? Is there a precedence or will we find out in the years to come? The Doctor said that I have a mild gegenerative disc problem in my neck and that it may come from too much coin hunting. Also, what the heck happens to your eyes down the road? Do we wind up looking like Marty Feldman in "Young Frankenstein" - all hunched over with one eye pooping out? I'm curious of your thoughts.

I would say that correct posture, rest breaks, and not staring at the lights while grading eliminate almost any issue. But that is true for most things. So my statement is that there is nothing inherent in poring over coins that will lead to problems as long as proper body mechanics are employed along with healthy eating and exercise.

Soemtimes when I'm done searching coins my grading eye feels like someone poked it with a needle. I don't woory so much about damaging my eyesight. I do worry about developing back and neck problems. I think you need to find a way to look at coins where you're not hunched over. Maybe you need a new chair and desk to work from. It'll make a big difference.

BTW someone told me you already look a little little Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein.
