Pictures of my type set 1792-1964

My wife got me a Nikon Coolpix 4500 camera for Christmas and I was able to post good pictures of all my coins from my complete type set. Please let me know what you think of the pictures and/or coins. I tried to show them in the best light. If you have any lower grade early coins. let me knowimage

Nice collection and nice photos. I don't know if it's a character flaw, but I really like to look at pictures of coins in someone's collection. I look at them and study them--it's just fun! For instance, I noticed die cracks in the 3CN and shield 5 cent piece that I found interesting. And the 1795 half dollar, while obviously not your highest grade coin, is just so cool. I wish I had a similar coin just to take me back in my imagination to 1795 when I look at it! And your 1964 proof JFK--thanks to Russ, I now automatically look to see if it's an AH. (I don't think it is...)

I have a question about the images: Is it my monitor, or do the images tend to have a reddish cast to them? If so, do you have any idea why?

    Thanks for sharing.

Great coins, but I'm going to be the one dissenting opinion. I just want to preface my comments with I too have taken coin pics and it ain't easy! The pics are good, but honestly, the woodgrain background is a little distracting. I would have used a black felt background, it will make the coins even look that much brighter and better. Second, it appears some pics were taken later in the day. There are some pics that are brighter and lighter then others.

I'm about to re-photograph all my images and repost them. It's a real royal pain-in-the-a** but I really want to show my coins with the best pics possible. These coins deserve the best possible pics!

Overall, I do commend you, that is one outstanding set, and thank you for sharing. What you have done takes a tremendous amount of hard work. I don't know if I would have the fortitude (or $$$) to undertake that kinda of type set. Well done and it's going to be even that much nicer when complete.

Frattlaw, I tried different backgrounds from snow white to pitch black and several inbetween and the wood seemed to work best. I can try some more as I would like to get the coins in the best possible light.

Thank you for the compliment. I think it would be fun and interesting to do this type of type set. Some coins I would not every consider buying, such as the covered ear eagle, but let see where this ends up in twenty years.

That's a very nice set and your pictures came out great. I like copper on that background. Great Job.
