Does This Peace Dollar Look Like A 63??

I'm finding this one a little hard to believe, due to what appear to be deep, long scratches on both the obverse and reverse.

Is the flatness in the lettering on the reverse normal for these?

It's in a NGC slab so it must be die cracks. Some killer cracks I might add. Really neat.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    SF,

I think it could make 63......but on the low end. Those scratches (i think we are talking about the same scratches) appear to me to be die cracks which are not real unusual. The scan makes it appear to have been cleaned at one time though.

Syeve is the expert, but that is what I thought also.Even NGC couldn't say that was MS63 if it were scratches.Could they ?

thanks for the info. I had lunch with Larry today. Poor guy hasn't slept for about a day and a half. We had a great visit.

Peace dollars have notoriously weak strikes. The flatness on the reverse is not outside the norm.
