More on the NTC/ACG battle- honest seller, too :)

Very clean bust dime

Good thing at least the seller said the coin was cleaned- it is my guess that since he said the grade was just AG3 from NTC, that they neglected to say that the coin was in fact (very harshly) cleaned...

At least we have a seller willing to admit the fault of NTC image

This says all you need to know about NTC:

"This coin has been graded and slabbed by NTC (NumisTurst Corporation) as AG3. See Pictures. The last two digits of the date, and some of the reverse legend show"

    Emphasis mine.

    They even overgrade these things!

Does NTC net grade and note this?

  • Is this a joke? was the coin ever struck ?
If you give up your rights, in order to maintain your freedom. You will most likely end up losing both!
  • Based on the sparkly luster and mint fresh appearance, I believe this is actually an MS64 coin with a slightly weak strike.

    Nice.

  • First of all- I am certainly not a fan of NTC, I have yet to see an NTC coin that I believed to be properly graded. I must say , however that IN MY OPINION ONLY- the buyer of this coin is in much better shape and much smarter than the many buyers that are chasing the SUPER GRADE modern proofs.image

Yep, the willingness and ability to spend large sums of money on one's hobby is certainly an excellent indicator of intelligence level.

Russ- I don't think so- never seen a problem noted.

You didn't insult me. I don't own any SUPER GRADE modern proofs.
