Can a sudden price increase in one type cause a jump in another?

We remember that last month, an 1918-S Lincoln sold for some crazy money, like $6,500 or something. I think most of us agreed it was a little on the high side...

Well, now look at the recently sold Pennsylvania Buffalo set...

1918-S
Sold for $14,490, pop 22/1

1919-S
Sold for $6,762, pop 23/1

Judging from the pictures, the 1919-S also looks like it has a better strike. I've also always thought the 19-S was the tougher of the two dates...?

  • I guess these two would be the start of a $500,000-600,000 Buffalo set.

    Who buys these coins?
"I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather did, as opposed to screaming in terror like his passengers."
