I belive it's the old marking way instead of sms. SP-Short for Specimen Strike.

Special uncirculated Nickels were included in the 1994 Sets. They are extremely well struck, like Proof coins, but have a satiny, matte appearance.

Well the MS69FS have been going for about $120 - $150 lately.......... and this is I think the 3rd time this coin has yet to hit reserve....... but I have to admit I too like the "SP" designation - which by the way is what they should be designated cuz they ain't SMS coins!!

I recently sold one of these for $130 if memory serves. Not only that, but mine was in that ultra-rare holder with the flag waving in the background.
