How to remove spots from a cent.

I'm going through a few rolls of cents. Some of them have what seems to be water spots on them. From being rinsed and not drying properly I presume. They're in original wrappers. I've seen threads talking about removing these spots but forgot what they said.
Is there a way to do it without harming the coin? If I can remove these spots, they sure would look better!
Thanks in advance.

if red/brown, your hosed.
if red, you MIGHT be able to dip, if you know the trick. if you don't know the trick - DON'T DIP, & find someone who does know the trick. (you won't get it from me)

dorkkarl,
They're Red. With all the talk about the upcoming Canadian sets, I decided to open three roll of 1967 Canadian cents I bought years ago. The end coins were scratched by the rolling machine. Almost are beautiful. Some of them have a nice tone to them. Quite a few have what appears to be water spots on them. It figures the nicest ones would have the spots too.
