Weak sale, Good bargain?

Scrolling thru the prices realized in Superior, I see some real low prices. But I also noticed a fellow board member and trade dollar afficianado picked up a great deal:

1875 PF65 DCAM

R&I has been selling these for $16-20K. Hope it's as advertised!

Looks nice, a small fingerprint maybe on the reverse.
  • That is a steal for a not bad looking image.

However, how can we tell if the bid met reserve? I noticed a few Seated Halves were way way below and can't imagine they met reserve.

I would have loved to bid on some of these gems but a 20% juice and dealing with ebay were a turn off. I personally would never ever consign with Superior for these reasons alone.

Tracked the prices too. I thought the prices were o.k for copper, nickel, and Barber, a bit stronger for Seated. As usual, looked like highest graded and nicely toned continue to be strong. Thought the Wisconsin collection fared very well.
Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.
