Someone Please come Break my Right Hand Trigger Finger !!

Man I'm here to tell you My Merc Dime Set will NEVER be finished. That darn trigger finger keeps going off when a Dime is seen on Ebay or a Web Site that I believe I need to see. Some I keep but most I just turn around and sell on Ebay or to a dealer locally. These people just love to see me coming. Crap it happened 3 times in the last week. Money will never be saved for the last three entries at this rate. Does anyone else also show this "Complete Self Control" that is exhibited by myself ? I will be Very Gratefull if anyone can give me some advice to curb this appetite (SP) to reel in every darn dime that looks good to these somewhat worn out brown eyes.

Actually one did upgrade the set a hair but the others are just some more extra trinkets to admire.

Ken - You are suffering from a condition called COINISITIS EXTREMITUS. It is unfortunately

untreatable, by any known medical method at this time. While the condition itself is not fatal

it will remain with you untill you are deceased. The illness is contracted by handling beautiful

toned coins for a long period of time. It may well live within the toning or patina itself, and

much like a Prion has been known to turn the afflicted persons brain from a thinking instrument

to merely an aquisition device. Temporary pallatives may include food, strong drink, sleep

and sex. Good luck! Doctor Bear

I ask my analyst about your problem. He says you may be obsessive/compulsive regarding Mercury dimes, especially toned ones. Maybe some Prozac would help. Better yet, this new product called Ginkoviagra. image Helps you remember why you give a -----!! image

Dennis I like that idea. You guys bid away like crazy when you see a bid that I have made on Ebay. Jim got me on one last week or maybe I should say I tried to get him but was too cheap so he got the nice dime. Web Sites are the only concern now.

BTW did you guys see the two nice little runs of Mercs that hit Ebay yesterday ? Damn, here I go again. I'm watching a 38S, watching is stressed seems how one was bought over the weekend. Regretfully I think I paid too much. We will see. Anyway there are a Few nice dimes that did show up on Ebay.

One other thing. Has anyone heard from Al, Jon or Tony ? They have been missing through the Holiday Season. Certainly hope everything is OK with them.

  • I just got back today, been out for a few days, I not only saw the ebay coins just now, I bid on the 1930P65fb, ya'll leave it along......I really need that one. The others, well, I am just hoping against hope at getting them that cheap.image

    Have'nt heard a word from them.image

Dennis you can have the 30P I like my lowly 64FB coin in that date.

Wayne, Well Hmmm, 24P 65FB, Hmmmm, been looking for one of those for some time, Hmmmm.

If all goes well in the Heritage Auction I'll be broker again so Ebay will be out of the question. If things go bad, Hmmmm.

  • Hey Ken,

I have a few bids on those that showed up on ebay too. ohhhh well let the bidding begin.

btw fairlane I have the same affliction you have and tell myself there must be a 12 step program for our sickness.

step 1: we admitted we were powerless over high grade Mercury dimes and our lives had become unmanagable (we had to see where we could use money from this and that to buy the next dime)
step 2: we came to believe a power greater than ourselves counld restore us to sanity (winning the lottery so we could buy all the FB dimes out there)
step 3: Made a decision to turn our will, and our lives, over to the care of God as we understood Him (when the cash runs out then use a credit card)
step 4: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves (decided where we had taken money to buy a dime that could have been used to make a house payment)
step 5: Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs ( told the wife ok MAYBE we had overspent once or twice image )

I could go on with the rest..............

anyone want to add a few?

    Walt:

Lets just say when the day comes I would not turn down a Non FB coin. I've been looking at the one on the Teaparty Web Site for a couple of weeks now. Actually this thread started because I spent Bucks that could have went toward THAT Dime. image

    JB:

I thought those dimes would stir some interest around this place. image
