mint set inquiry

Does the gray sheet price for the 1949 mint set contemplate 14 coins (no "s" quarter issued), or 28 coins inasmuch as two sets were originally sold together by the Mint as I understand? Thanks.

Bid reflects original sets in original govt issued cardboard with 2 of each coin from each mint for a total of 28 coins for the 49 mint set.

Do not buy put together sets. Compare the roll bid price for those same 28 coins, I'll bet it's less than half of the mint set price.

These double pack mint sets have climbed tremendously in value in the past few years, because most nice original sets have been disassembled.

Nice looking original sets with all the envelops and nice color are worth a big premium over the set bid price as well.

    Good Luck with these.
