    Clean surfaces but it looks like it may have been lightly cleaned also looks like it may have faint PVC residue? Blue green areas near the L in Liberty and the bridge of Miss Libertys nose.

    Smooth coin, but it seems to have subdued or uneven luster. I'll call it a 65.

    I don't see why it wouldn't be a 67.

    It doesn't show any luster for PL, but maybe that's due to the scan?

    Sorry, but the dark areas on the face & highpoints are breaks in the surface where it has cleaned, rubbed, wiped, mishandled or whatever.
    Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    I was going to say 66-67. If Dog is right, and the coin is AU, it still has better eye appeal than most any 79-S rev. of 78 that you are likely to run across. I love it.

    I agree with dog, looks like rub, especially across the cheek. If not, a solid 66

    When it gets here later this week, I'll post more pics. Before it makes it's trip to PCGS. Hopefully it comes back in a slab and not a bodybag.

    Sorry, but it looks cleaned to me. Looks like I can see the hairlines across the face. Also it just has that drab look of a cleaned coin.

    It's MS-60 at best. The S mint dollars of this era come with strong luster. This on is dull because it's been dipped too hashly. The surfaces are smooth but they are dull and cloudy.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
