An 11 year old GIRL is #1 in the Proof 1950-2002 Lincoln Cent Set Registry

Hey Guys

How does it make you feel to be outdone by an 11 year old girl? I will make a bronze sculpture of her when I get to meet her.
Until thenI think we should give her all the congratulations

Don't you suppose daddy is footing the bill?

Probably....but from what I understand she was along side her father bidding at Santa Clara. What I am saying is she should be welcomed into a primarily male dominant hobby

Its nice that father and daughter have found something to do together, even if it is costing him a S**tload of money. But he did come up with a nice way to acquire a top-ranked registry set without having to take so much heat from his wife.

"But dear, they're HER coins!" image

In case I'm being too cynical and acquiring these coins is all her idea and she is using all her own money, then more power to her!

Reguardless of who's footing the bill. If she's helping to do the footwork, I think that's great. Congradulations... who ever you are.

I bet that all of us "guys" had the knowledge and interest in coins at eleven years of age taht this young gal has now -- but maybe our dads didn't have the bucks. lucky for her to have the interest, the knowledge and the extra "allowance" to put together a nice collection.

Frankly had my kids shown interest in coins when they were eleven I would have put up the cash. But instead, my son went to college for music and is a musician, my daughter is going to college to follow me in TV News, and all those coins I bought for them when they were little kids going with me to weekend coins shows still sit in my safe deposit box with NO interest from them.

In a word, bravo!. My two daughters got me interested in helping them accumulate a #1 proof quarter set. They love to show it off to their friends on the net at NGC. It was and is an enjoyable experience even though they are 25 and 24.

I think it is great! Congratulation to Cameron! And, if she puts any of our sets to shame--Good for her. I wish my kids would have taken the interest when they were younger.

I wish *I* had a daddy like that.

Heck. I wish I had a DAUGHTER like that.

I hope she gets on here and teaches us a thing or two! She'd be fun to have around here.

Congratulations, Cameron! That is an astounding accomplishment! Wow! image

I'll tip my hat to the little girl. I know what happened to one of the 1954 PR68 RD coins I need to complete my set.

From my life, all the Camerons I've ever known were boys. Are you sure that this Cameron is a girl?

  • I believe you are talking about Bill. I don't know him but he has also put together the #39 collection of Circ Lincoln's 09-58. Not that impressive yet but he has some key dates knocked out, like the 09-S VDB in 66RD, not to mention the 25-D in 65RD, 10-S in 66RD, and the 51-D in 67RD, etc. He has been buying on Ebay for the past few months.

The reason behind her owning the set is to receive a .50 GPA bump because it's a miniority owned Registry Set. image

  • Honeycutt's set is still by far the best. For $50 he could have the top spot with
no fear of being taken over.

(And I suspect Cameron is a boy)

  • Congratulations!!

I have let my proof set fall to the wayside (I've dropped to 11th) over the last year. The prices are insane IMHO although I should get the 2002S just to get back in the top 10......

Hopefully she has a trust fund supporting her. I'm glad to see that she should have a set that can stand the test of time. Personally, I need to get back in and focus on the wheat cents, let pcgs grade a bunch of 70's then get back in this part of the game.

I've heard that Cameron Diaz is a girl.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
