Next Set Registry Special?

With the present set registry special drawing to a close, has anyone heard what the next special might be? My wish list would be for a special that includes 1971 Topps baseball at $5.00 a card. I have over a hundred 71s I would love to send in.

It sure would be nice to take advantage of the 2 fer $10 deal that the Super Bowl Fest has for cards dropped off there with no min. and no limit (see that pesky little pop-up we all get waved at us with every time we vist psacard.com). Maybe at least extend for us registry participants the offer for 60's and 70's football issues , where commons are only worth the grading fees if you get 8's. I am collecting '62 football now and am happy with 7's. At $5 each I would grade all my raw cards that won't 8, I'm sure a number of dealers and collectors would do likewise. Imagine a martket flush with these black beauties

I feel the same way with my 71 set. I am happy with 7s; will pay to have some of my cards graded that don't quite meet 8 standards at $5.00 a pop. I hope PSA is reading!!! image

Ditto on the above. I have almost a complete set of 71's that I would grade if they would do something.I would really like to see a 71 and back vintage grading special.I have about 200 56's that I have been holding onto with my fingers crossed image
Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.
  • same here, i have about 130-140 1961 topps football cards that i would have graded for $5 each but i have never sent them in becouse id say 85% would come back psa 7.

I'm probably in the VAST minority, but I would like to see a pre-war special. I realize that pre-war 6's and 7's will cover the $10 grading cost, but not always the cost of grading + raw price. Especially since PSA likes to sprinkle in a few 4's and 5's on my submissions.image

Playball-I am with you. A pre-war special would be great. Doubt it will ever happen though.

Playball -- I agree on your suggestion. I think PSA would be happy to run such a promotion, if there was some way that they could ensure that they were getting low-to-mid grade commons cards. Unfortunately that is easier said than done. (e.g. $5 grading for common cards that grade 5 or less from any pre-1930 issue....)
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I keep my raw commons from throughout the 1960's,
sorted within each set, by what grade I expect PSA would grade them.

The ones I deem "submittable" get sent in because I predict they'll probably come back in an 8 or better,
but I have hundreds that I've deemed "marginal" that I don't send in.

The "marginals" may be 8's, but they just as likely may be 7's, so I don't submit them.
At $ 8.00 per card, I can't take the risk of getting back a bunch of 7's, but at $ 5.00 a card, it would be worth the risk.

Probably many collectors in the same boat.

I'm hoping for a $3 crossover special, like the one SGC is offering. Or even a $5 one!
