Does CU care about you?

Really think about it. Does CU care about you? I read on this forum about all the no moderated forums. Good people who put a lot of information and help with this forum getting upset with these people that come on here to start commotions and have nothing erlse better to do. In another situtation where off topic threads roam the U.S Coins forum. Like this post. And finally ( Im sure there are many more complaints ) The issue of only ebay listing in the Buy, Sell, Trade forum.

I have created a message board very similar to this one and have made changes such as a seperate forum for Ebay listing and moderated by actually users.

With something so simple to do, why doesnt CU take the time and do this to make its repeat visitors feel wanted. I would do everything for people like you that take the time and help others.

If you do visit my site, I have just created the site and no one knows about it yet. I have created it in retaliation against CU and there lack of interest with us.

Is it acceptable to make an honest criticism when you see it? If so, then is it also acceptable to actually do something about it?

NBSQLGeek saw a problem here, went out and did something about. Now, he's letting us know that we have an option. What's wrong with that?

You may choose to see negative in everything and everyone, but that's a reflection of you. Personally, I think NBSQLGeek was only trying to do something positive.

You know, my parents taught me, "If you do not have anything nice to say, don't say anything"...So, I would like to say...NOTHING.

If you care to hear my opinion, PM me.

    NBSQLGeek,

I registered, got my confirming email, went back to your site but can't post a message. It states I must be registered. I'll try again later, just in case you are working on it.

PS: how about a separate forum for AS/400 programmers just starting to use SQL and are also coin collectors? Would that be only half-off-topic? image

  • BMW,
Build it and they will come. They'll complain but they will come and enjoy. CU may improve but don't count on it, too many issues involving budgets, staffing, etc. Ultimately, eyeballs will determine which sites get the most traffic. Heck, look at NGC forums going gang busters.

Good luck. I'll visit later today.
  • I do this as a hobby. I enjoy coins , databases , and socially interacting with others. I sure dont do it for the money since I dump money into this with giveaways , webhosting , time, and a lot of cash for the ASP code to keep new things for visitors.

Geez jsut reminded me the money I spend of ASP code.image

    NBSQLGeek,

Personally, I think you need not have created another BBS; the one at the NGC/CS site is reasonably well moderated, and the CoinTalk.Org site seems also to have promise (and can use some more user participation). And, Usenet, yahoo I think, and perhaps other sites and venues.

Many folks here and elsewhere are very busy and cannot afford to spend too much time going through the various BBS systems. I am concerned that your BBS, however good your effort may be, may dilute user participation and spread it out over too many total BBS sites.

I agree with you that this site isn't perfect. But, I think the answer may not be yet another BBS site. We have enough...

  • Ah the old days of BBS. Such memories of dial ups , hand shakes , sysops , and L.O.R.D.

And again I do this fun beleive it or not. Hobbies are fun, I dont mind the time and money since I enjoy it so much. If it fails it fails I gain knowledge and thats more vauluable than money.

  • Im not here to bash but the voices around do seem to have something to say. mac you have been ( are ) a great pillar of knowledge here but I can go into the US Coins Forum and start using foul language and insulting you and Im pretty sure it will start a huge arguement amungst us and the post will not get deleted by someone for a good while.

If you dont like what I say please ignore this post. Its a very simple thing.

  • I know CU cares. If they didn't care, there wouldn't be any forum for discussion where PCGS responds.

  • True I do feel they care but at this time they sure are not showing it. I think what started me down this road was seeing a post by coppercoins how he is tired of this place not being moderated. So blame this on coppercoins image
