Is there a book on hard times tokens?

I have seen pics of a few hard times tokens posted and i think that would be an interesting thing to get into but i don't know the first thing about them, is there a book i could buy that tells what they are, est. mintages, and things like that? (kinda like a redbook of tokens)

There may be a book dedicated to Hard Times Tokens. I don't know. I have the Russ Rulau "Standard Catalog of U.S. Tokens 1700-1900." It has about a one hundred page section on Hard Times Tokens including rarity ratings, approximate values and historical information about each token (where available).

The book also has Civil War Tokens, Merchant Tokens and counterstamps. Krause is the publisher.

There is also one by Rulau dedicated specifically to Hard Times tokens. Titled simply Hard Times Tokens. It's a revision of Low's work. Excellent book with plenty of plates, history, and descriptions.
